C. Inspections.
(1) Visual examination. Samples taken in accordance with paragraph 4.B.1. shall be examined to verify that the superficial product requirements are in compliance with section 1.
(2) Dimensional Examination. Samples taken in accordance with paragraph 4.B.2. shall be examined to verify that all dimensionally measurable product requirements are in compliance with Section 1 and the dimensions called for in the contract.
(3) Tests. Samples taken in accordance with paragraph 4.B.3. shall be subjected to the following tests to demonstrate consistency in product functionality, durability, and performance expectations.
(a) For wax content use TAPPI test method T-405.
(b) For basis weight use TAPPI test method T-410
(c) For tearing strength use TAPPI test method T-414
(d) For tensile strength use TAPPI test method T-404
(4) Examination for Preparation for Delivery. Samples taken in accordance with paragraph 4.B.4. shall be examined to determine compliance with Section 5.
5. PREPARATION
FOR DELIVERY
A. Packaging and packing provisions. Each roll shall be packaged to prevent damage during multiple shipments, handling and storage. Packaged wrapping paper shall be packed in accordance with normal commercial practice. The packing container shall be closed to prevent accidental opening and shall be such to insure carrier acceptable and safe delivery to destination, complying with the rules and regulations applicable to the mode of transportation to be used.
B. Marking.
(1) For Shipment to Civilian Agencies. In addition to any special marking required by contract or order, marking shall be in accordance with Fed-Std-No.123. Bar Code marking is required, unless otherwise specified (See Section 6).
