COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
TUBING, BIAS SEWN, OSNABURG OR BURLAP CLOTH
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description in preference to Military Specification MIL-T-40625.
Abstract. This commercial item description covers bias sewn tubing. The tubing is intended for baling clothing and textile and as a cloth covering for bundles.
1. CLASSIFICATION
1.1 Classification. The cloth shall be of the following types and classes as specified (see 5.1).
Type I – Cotton osnaburg tubing, 31 inches in width
Type II – Jute burlap or a blended jute/kenaf burlap tubing.
Class 1 – 37.5 inches in width
Class 2 – 58.5 inches in width
2. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS
2.1.Material. The cloth shall be plain weave in construction and natural color. The cloth shall conform to the physical requirements specified in table I.
