2. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS:
A. Construction and dimensions. Size of plastic sheet or strip shall be as specified in the contract or purchase order. Dimensions of style 1 material shall be expressed as number of sheet per the roll, roll width, and distance between perforations. Dimensions of style 2 material shall be expressed as roll length, as applicable, shall be not less than specified. Roll width shall be as specified with a tolerance of -0.6 cm (-1/4”) or +1.9 cm (+3.4”). For style 1 material the distance between perforations shall be as specified, with + 0.6 cm (+1/4”) when the distance between perforations is 30 cm (12”) or less, and a tolerance of +1.2 cm (+1/2”) when the distance between perforations is more than 30 cm (12”). The core shall be 0.6 to 1.0 cm (1/4” to 3/8”) longer than the width of the film. The inside diameter of the core shall be not less than 7.6 cm (3”) for Type A, Type B, or Type C material, and not less than 3.8 cm (1-1/2”) for Type D material.
B. Physical properties. All material furnished under this description shall be fabricated from transparent plastic film which meets the requirements of the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act for use in direct contact with food. All material shall conform to the designated physical properties listed in Table I below:
