Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the Commercial Item Description, where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure that supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements (See Section 6, Ordering Data).

B. Sampling: All sampling shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-105 except in paragraph (3).

(1) Sampling for Visual Inspection. A random sample of tissue paper shall be taken from each lot. The inspection level shall be S-4 with an Acceptable Quality Level (AQL) of 4.0 percent defective. The sample unit shall be one sheet.

(2) Sampling for Dimensional Inspection. A random sample of tissue paper shall be taken from each lot. The inspection level shall be S-3 with an AQL of 4.0 percent defective. The sample unit shall be one sheet.

(3) Sampling for Tests. A random sample of tissue paper shall be taken from each lot. The inspection level and AQL percent shall be as per TAPPI T-400.

(4) Sampling for Preparation for Delivery. For examination of the preparation for delivery. The sample unit shall be one shipping container fully prepared for delivery, selected at random. The inspection level shall be S-2 with an AQL of 4.0 percent defective.

C. Inspections.

(1) Visual Examination. Samples taken in accordance with paragraph 4.B.1 shall be examined to verify that the superficial product requirements are in compliance with Section 1.

(2) Dimensional Examination. Samples taken in accordance with paragraph 4.B.2 shall be examined to verify that all dimensionally measurable product requirements are in compliance with Section 1.

(3) Tests. Samples taken in accordance with paragraph 4.B.3 shall be subjected to the following tests to demonstrate consistency in product functionality, durability, and performance expectations.

(a) For basis weight use TAPPI test method T-410.

(b) For bursting strength use TAPPI test method T-403.
