COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
PAPER, WRAPPING, TISSUE
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description, for all Federal agencies.
Scope: This description covers tissue paper which is used for wrapping items to protect them from breaking, scratching or dust during shipment or storage.
Classification: The tissue paper covered by this Commercial Item
Description shall be of the following types, as specified (See Section 6, Ordering Data).
Type I- regular
Type II- antitarnish
1. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS:
A. The tissue paper shall be 100 percent bleached chemical wood pulp and shall conform to the requirements in Table 1 when tested in accordance with paragraph 4.C. (3).
B. Type II tissue paper shall not tarnish silver when tested in accordance with paragraph 4.C. (3).
C. The tissue paper shall be furnished in sheets with clean cut edges. The dimensions shall be as specified t 6.4 millimeters (+ 1/4 inch).
