COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
PAPER, PROTECTIVE, ADHESIVE
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this
commercial item description, for all Federal agencies.
1. SCOPE. This description covers protective adhesive paper which is used on the exterior aluminum skins on aircraft to prevent scratches during fabrication.
2. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS:
A. Construction. The protective adhesive paper shall be made from kraft paper impregnated with synthetic latex. Adhesive coating shall be covered with a liner which has been treated to assure easy release from adhesive surface.
B. Dimensions. The length and thickness of the roll shall be not less than specified (see 7a). The width of the roll shall be as specified with the tolerances of 6.35 mm (+1/4”), 3.2 mm (-1/8”) (see 7a).
C. Paper. The paper shall meet the requirements of Table I, when tested with the appropriate test methods.
