D. Workmanship: The paper shall be clean and uniform without dirt, dust, spots, shives, lumps, slime spots, foreign or undigested matter, holes, tears, cuts, punctures, splits, wrinkles, or corrugations and shall be free from any other defects which may adversely affect its utility for the purpose intended, or its appearance.
2. REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS:
A. Conformance to the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act.
The materials used in Type I waxed paper shall conform to the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act and regulations promulgated thereunder.
B. Post Consumer Recovered Materials.
The contractor shall certify that the Type shall include a minimum of 5% postconsumer
II waxed paper offered recovered materials in accordance with 40 CFR pt. 250; The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract.
3. QUALITY ASSURANCE:
A. Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the supplier is responsible for the performance of all the inspection requirements of this CID.
Except as otherwise specified, the supplier may utilize his own facilities or any commercial laboratory acceptable to the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the Commercial Item Description, where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure that supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements (See Section 6, Ordering Data).
B. Each lot of waxed paper shall be inspected for conformance to the requirements of this Commercial Item Description. For inspection purposes, a lot shall consist of all waxed paper manufactured under the same conditions. Sampling and acceptance shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-105, except where otherwise indicated:
(1.) Physical Properties & Tests- Shall be conducted in accordance with the requirements of referenced specifications and standards.
(2.) Visual Characteristics- Inspection Level S-2 with an Acceptable Quality Level (AQL) of 4.0 percent defective. The sample unit shall be one roll or box, as applicable.
