PAPER, KRAFT, UNTREATED
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description, for all federal agencies.
1. SCOPE. This commercial item description covers brown kraft paper used for general wrapping applications.
2. CLASSIFICATION:
Style 1 - Rolls
Style 2 - Sheets
3. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS:
3.1 The paper furnished under this description shall be sized and unbleached.
3.2 Dimensional Tolerance. The paper shall be furnished in rolls or sheets with dimensions specified in the ordering data. The tolerances shall be according to the table below:

3.3 Basis Weight. The basis weight shall be as specified from Table 1 with a + 5 percent tolerance when tested in accordance with TAPPI-T410.
3.4 Bursting Strength. Shall be tested in accordance with TAPPI – 403 and Tear resistance shall be tested in accordance with TAPPI-T414 and both shall meet the requirements in Table 1.
